Just when we were starting to think that we’re done with high-end sneaker collabs, we get things like this. The new Adidas Balenciaga collab certainly puts the stripes in Triple S! Anyway, although the kicks did not make an appearance in the FW22 fashion week, it’s still interesting. So let’s take a look at what this collab is bringing to the table. Okay, so basically, that’s a collab that no one really asked for, but there it is! Chunky sneakers have been around for several years now. Ever since Kanye gave us the Yeezy 700, chunky kicks became “the thing”. And for those who bought into the hype, well, resale was pretty profitable! At the same time, Balenciaga dropped their iconic and very expensive Triple S kicks. They were a hit among fashion influencers on Instagram, as most of us already saw! That hype relatively died down for a while. However, chunky and platform kicks are making a comeback with the 2022 trends!
Anyway, rumor has it that an Adidas Balenciaga collab is cooking! And as far as pictures, we’ve got one design that looks pretty doable. You know, it could be a thing, especially since the Adidas Prada collab was also very simple and elegant. Anyway, this potential Triple-Stripes comes in an all-white design. The only hits of black are on the heel and the three side stripes with the Balenciaga branding. So all in all, the kicks are chunky but definitely not too shabby.
Although neither Balenciaga nor Adidas confirmed this collab, it’s really easy to imagine it being real. And if it’s not, well that’s a good idea for design teams at both brands. But if we wanna, hypothetically, talk about the retail price, it’s gonna be for the high-ballers. You see, it’s definitely gonna retail for more than $1,000. Now imagine it’s a very exclusive drop? You’re gonna be talking about thousands of dollars in resale!
